Our story

Almacenera Almacopio S.A. was incorporated on February 28, 1986, with the approval of the Superintendency of Banks through Resolution No. 86-383, and began operations in August 1986 with subscribed and paid-in capital of S/. 420,000.00 sucres. Initially, the company focused exclusively on the agricultural sector, with silo and warehouse facilities in the cities of Durán and Quito, becoming a key source of support for farmers and manufacturers in the agro-export and agro-industrial sectors. Starting in 1996, the company made a major shift in its business strategy, expanding into the country's commercial sector through the public commercial warehouse regime.

In 1998, Almacopio strengthened its operations with the opening of an office in the city of Cuenca to support this important industrial region of the country. The 2000s became a decade of growth, marked by an increase in operational infrastructure and an expansion of services, including the opening of an office in the city of Manta. This new office served importers using that port route for importing goods transported on deep-draft vessels.

In 2017, the Superintendency of Banks renewed its authorization to carry out financial activities through Resolution No. SB-2017-780 of September 11, 2017, confirming its status as a general deposit warehouse. It also granted operating permits for its offices nationwide.
