Financial education programs are designed to meet the needs of their target audience and should be viewed as an ongoing process, in order to account for the increasing complexity of markets, the variation of needs at different stages of life, and the increasingly complex financial information.
As part of the financial education program, in-person or virtual training sessions are held annually for the designated target audience. The content of the training modules is designed in response to the topics defined by the Superintendency of Banks and serves the following purposes.
- To empower the target audience to improve the management of their personal and family finances.
- To publicize the rights of financial consumers, in order to promote compliance with ethical standards of conduct.
- To help the target audience learn about the features, understand the advantages and disadvantages, the risks and the proper use of financial products and services.
- Improve knowledge and understanding of financial products and services in order to make well-informed decisions.
